The current cemetery is reaching full capacity, prompting the Parish Council to take the view that it must make arrangements for burials in the Parish going forward.
It's important to note that planning permission for this extension has already been granted, as shown in the plan here.
This proposed extension pertains to the Swathe site, which was acquired by the Parish Council 25 years ago with the specific intention of using it for a burial ground extension. If the council approves the project, the initial phase will involve removing trees and shrubs encroaching on the site. Subsequently, a suitable pathway will be constructed to provide access to the area as a burial ground. This work will be carried out in stages over time.
